At Woof to Wonderful, every appointment is reserved especially for your dog. As a small, bespoke grooming studio, missed appointments have a significant impact — they leave gaps that could have been offered to another dog in need of care. To keep things fair for all clients and to protect the time set aside for your pet, the following policy applies:

Cancellations -

  • Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

  • Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a 50% charge of the booked grooming service.

No‑Shows -

  • A “no‑show” is when a client does not attend their appointment and has not contacted us beforehand.

  • No‑shows will be charged 100% of the appointment cost.

  • After two no‑shows, future bookings may require full payment upfront.

Late Arrival Guidelines -

  • ·Up to 10 minutes late: I will do my best to complete the full groom, but the appointment may need to be adjusted depending on the dog’s coat, behaviour, and the rest of the day’s schedule.

  • ·More than 10 minutes late: The appointment may need to be rescheduled to avoid delays for other clients. A £15 Late Arrival Fee may be applied to cover lost time.

  • ·More than 15 minutes late: The appointment is usually cancelled and charged at 50% of the grooming fee, as this time cannot be filled at short notice.

Terms and Conditions

Flea and Tick Policy -

We aim to maintain a clean, flea- and tick-free salon environment for the safety and comfort of all dogs in our care.

  • If your dog has fleas or ticks, you may be asked to reschedule the appointment until the issue is under control.

  • We recommend seeking advice from your veterinarian about the most appropriate treatment and preventative care.

  • Treating all pets in the household, as well as your home, may help prevent re-infestation.

  • If fleas are found during your dog’s appointment, we will use flea shampoo and carry out additional salon disinfection.

  • An additional £15 charge will be added to your grooming bill if this treatment and cleaning are required.

Matting Policy -

Your dog’s comfort and welfare are always our priority. We will not attempt to brush out a severely matted or heavily knotted coat where doing so could cause pain, distress, or damage to the skin.

  • In line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, clipping the coat may be the kindest and safest option for a severely matted dog.

  • If your dog’s coat is severely matted, you may be asked to sign a shave-off consent form before grooming begins.

  • We cannot accept liability for veterinary costs if pre-existing skin sores, blemishes, or irritation are nicked or exposed during the removal of a heavily matted coat.

  • Small knots in limited areas, such as behind the ears, can often be removed where appropriate.

  • Where matting is more extensive and extra time is needed, an additional £15 charge will apply.

Aggressive or Poorly Socialised Dogs Policy -

The safety of your dog, other dogs, and staff is extremely important. We reserve the right to refuse or stop grooming if a dog shows behaviour that may cause injury or distress.

  • Owners must tell us in advance if their dog bites, has bitten before, or shows aggression towards people, other animals, or any part of the grooming process.

  • We may refuse or stop grooming at any stage if we believe it is unsafe to continue.

  • A £15 difficult dog fee may be added to the standard grooming charge where handling requires additional time or care.

  • If a dog bites a person, the owner will be responsible for any related medical costs.

  • Owners may also be liable for bites or injuries caused by their dog under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
